The Ojai Valley Defense Fund was formed in response to the periodic threats our community has faced over its history, including open-pit uranium mining, a freeway running through the valley, a landfill, and out-of-scale developments. We make it our business to keep a large standing fund to provide financial support to groups undertaking legal action to protect and sustain the environmental quality of the Ojai Valley for the public benefit. This fund serves as both a deterrent to those who would threaten our community and ready cash for funding legal action when it becomes necessary.
