For the last 18 months, the Ojai Valley Green Coalition has been incorporating feedback from our public workshops and surveys into an updated master plan for the Ojai City Hall campus. The future site will have indoor and outdoor spaces for education and gathering, gardens, trails, and everything Ojai needs for an ecological center of learning and community. (Learn more about the plan on our Projects page here.) Now we need a name.
The OVGC will have this survey open online until June 10, 2026. The OVGC will select the top 3-5 names suggested by the public and will submit them to the City Council. Suggested names (or portions thereof) may be considered by the City Council who will ultimately determine the name of the Eco Park/Center, date to be determined.
Starting in 2022, supported by a grant from the City of Ojai, the OVGC led a series of community input sessions. These resulted in a clear consensus that this land could become and exciting nature education resource, a place for workshops, events and gatherings based in the Demonstration Garden, and inspired by the adjacent natural landscape, including Middle Stewart Canyon Creek.
