Green Drinks: Make Polluters Pay
Featuring CFROG
Learn about the rising movement to make polluters pay for the damage they’ve done! Vermont and New York have already passed “climate superfund” laws that make polluters pay for climate damages. A dozen more states are pursuing similar legislation! Over 30 cities, counties, states and tribal nations are bringing climate lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry. We’ve held industries like Big Tobacco and opioid manufacturers accountable in the past – we can do it again with Big Oil.
Join us on Thursday, August 6th for Green Drinks, our monthly gathering to connect, learn, and take action to protect our valley and our planet. This month we’re featuring the Abrah Steward from CFROG, the Ventura County-based advocacy organization leading a just transition away from fossil fuels to protect our health, economy, and climate. Join us at Farmer & the Cook starting at 5:30 for a presentation followed by a Q&A session. Come for the talk; stay for the snacks and prizes.
