Youth Council Planting

Ojai Trees is a volunteer-driven organization. One of the biggest ways you can help us accomplish our mission of growing Ojai’s urban canopy is by helping us at one of our four yearly plantings. This season we are collaborating with local organizations to accomplish large-scale plantings that will help our entire watershed.

Join Ojai Trees and Green Valley Project as we plant trees on Ojai’s west side. These “hot spots” were identified by the students on the Ojai Youth Council using GIS data.  The students presented their data to local businesses, residents, and the City of Ojai, and were able to identify sites for 67 new trees! On November 1, we will plant 20 of these in locations on Ojai’s west side, including Community Memorial Hospital. We would love to have our regular volunteers at this event, working alongside the student volunteers. Please join us by registering here.

Details:

• Please meet at Lower Libbey parking lot (521 S. Montgomery) at 8:30 AM.
• We will carpool to the planting locations. You may take your own car if needed, but please meet at Lower Libbey to get tools and instructions.
• You must wear long pants, sun protection, and gloves, and please bring water. There are no public facilities at the planting locations.
