Ojai Valley Green Coalition Awarded 2010 Climate Change Award

The Climate Change Action Awards program, sponsored by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, seeks to recognize individuals, businesses, and groups, that are making significant contributions to improve our environment by altering their carbon footprint and combating climate change.

The Ojai Valley Green Coalition was recognized TWICE for projects -- both our on-the-ground and outreach efforts!

Nominations could include, but were not limited to: scientists, teachers, journalists, citizen activists, students, organizations, businesses and their representatives, public officials, and others committed to protecting public health and preserving our natural surroundings.

When a select panel had reviewed all of the applications and chosen this year's finalists, the Coalition was included twice. The Ojai Creek Riparian Habitat Project was deemed a finalist under the planning or research project category, and in the public outreach/education category the “Go Green, Ojai!” museum exhibit was also recognized as a finalist.

The winners were announced and presented with their awards at a ceremony at the Ventura County Government Center on April 20. The Ojai Creek project received top honors in the planning or research project category and a plaque. In the public outreach/education category, the Coalition received a certificate of recognition while the top award went to a great project by the United Way's Young Leaders Society.

I'd like to write about Ojai's need for less night light. Who's the representative and what's the address?

Brilliant post on the blog, I share the same views. I wonder why this unique country really does not feel similar to me personally plus the web site master ;-)

Maintain up the very good work mate. This weblog article shows how well you realize and know this subject.

This has actually sparked up an thought in my thoughts. That is a superb website submit.

Almost all I can think about is smokes. I don't plan to take a drag and if perhaps anyone offered a cig right this minute, I would decline. I am in a pretty awful mood and have been having trouble getting a good nights sleep still I realize I will end up strong. The electric cigarettes may also be helpful in the end.

While trying to quit smoking, I discovered the smokeless cigarette. The e cig wotks on a nicotine fluid which carries only nicotine. Virtually no poisons at all. They already have in a literal sense made all the difference. No longer inhaling toxic chemicals feels incredible to me!

I realize now kicking the habit is very hard. I started using tobacco while I was a kid. It was the most horrible mistake of my life. At present 30 years down the road and I have lung cancer. I tried out a huge number of the quitting hints however not a single thing helped me stop. My final try will be the e cigarette in the end.
