How You Can Participate

Are you interested in participating? Whether you just want to stay informed, donate a few bucks or roll up your sleeves and join a committee, you are invited to be a part of the Ojai Valley Green Coalition. Following are some ways you can participate.

Membership Coordinator – keep our membership list and archive records organized and up-to-date.

Writers and Researchers – help educate and inform the Ojai Valley about green issues, actions to take, and government activities. You could also help make sure that what we’re sharing is accurate.

Legislative Watchers – Whether city, county, state or federal; we’re all downstream and downwind of what our officials decide for us. We need people who can keep abreast of government policy and its effects on our environment.

Fundraisers – Those who have a talent for fundraising play an invaluable role in any nonprofit organization, especially ours.

Resource Development - ( human or otherwise) – If you can prepare a 5 course meal out of 3 ingredients in the cupboard, pull rabbits out of hats, or make a mountain out of a mole hill of resources, we’ll put you on the same pedestal with fundraisers.

Planners – 100% of us like a party, but about 1% of us like to organize them. That’s 280 folks of the Valley population; we know you’re out there!

Experts – are you super knowledgeable on any issue addressed by one or more of our action committees? Our committees are listed on the left of the side bar. Your input, insight, and intuition would all be greatly appreciated.

But, what if you work 80 hours a week bringing home the soy bacon bits? Money is just as valuable as volunteer time. The OVGC has operating costs that must be paid. It’s not exactly carbon credits but we’re very generous with good karma credits. Or upgrade to sponsor and get your company name into the green spotlight. Community goodwill and good publicity really go a long way in the Ojai Valley.

I want to add a new person to the list for the Events Comm but do not know if adding it here is appropriate. Kale, Co-chair, Events Committee
